There seemed to be no stopping Keegan Pinson. The Oslo Grand Prix on Day 20 marked the beginning of what would be seven extraordinary weeks, with Pinson wrapping up five victories and a second place. Pinson's streak of successes culminated in winning the VCK Classic and helping the Storm Petrels secure an unexpected promotion to the Zyte Division. The sky seemed to be the limit for Pinson.
In the weeks to follow Pinson's first Classic win, however, Pinson's form seems to have come crashing down. Several off-days, a nagging injury, and loss of self-esteem and DP kept Pinson from achieving a single result on the second highest level. After dropping the points Pinson picked up in the beginning of S36, the Storm Petrels descended back into Division 3. In what has become a tale of two cyclists, now that we are back in familiar territory we hope that the new Pinson has vanished alongside our top-100 rank and that the old Pinson will rise from the ashes to soar like a true Storm Petrel once more.
Not all was doom and gloom with Pterodromae Cahow over the past few weeks, though. The fall of Pinson saw the rise of a different Petrel, one who has shown himself to be a true team captain in his own right. In the absence of results coming from hill races, Melville Morefield rewarded the faith placed in him by adding two results to his host of point scores. Indeed, Morefield has been responsible for most of our points ever since VCK Classic. Aided by the Storm Petrels' mos expensive purchase, Griswold Matson, and soon by young prodigy Sheridan Offutt, Morefield will have his own team available to guide him to further highs. Pterodromae Cahow is no longer just a hiller team, but a team of two captains. May they reach heights never reached by a Bermudan before.
